Is Allah God?

Allah in Arabic

Allah in Arabic (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Once again, someone has asked me, “Do you believe, Allah is God?”

I’m thankful when people ask us questions. As long as we keep learning, that’s just great with me.

First off, here’s the Wikipedia answer to the origin of the “Word” Allah.

Let’s continue this discussion further. If you want to write me, please do,  but directly to this blog, not on Facebook. I’m trying to get more interaction going on here!

  1. Yes.

  2. A Lebanese Christian enlightened me on this nearly 40 years ago. Misunderstanding the One True God is not the same thing as not actually referring to Him in a word in your own language. Allah is as much God as Dios or Dieu, etc. And after all, we finite, tiny human beings *all* misunderstand God to one degree or another, but we still speak of Him by His name in our own languages!

    • Thanks, Dorine. Your Lebanese friend was very wise.
