Beach Cottage: It’s Official

Sunset Deepens

We got our Cottage on the Beach! Yes, the Sabbatical is coming together!

What has been only a dream for this past month looks like it will work out for the beginning of September!

I’ve fallen asleep every night trying not to count as certainty the sound of the wind coming in across the water in the midst of winter while we cozy around the fireplace reading.

The nights with no lights except our own shining out across the bay, no cars, no people, nothing.

This cottage is so remote, tucked away by the sea, that most people will be unaware of its existence.

We hope it stays that way for another year, at least while we mend in mind and soul, body and heart.

Recreating in long leisurely walks down our dirt road, sun shining overhead,  hearing nothing but the waves, and an occasional bird.

What kind of person will I be when I come out of our Retreat?

  1. Thanks, Christina and Joanna. It is so needed, especially for Jon. We spent time last night with wonderful friends, and he came home quite disoriented from too much and too long people time.
    Sad but true.

  2. This is wonderful news!

  3. Sounds lovely!
